She strides slow, barefoot in the snow, racing to fast scalding concrete walks. Feet burning low, freezing skin down below, racing to quick arctic mountain peaks. She strides slow, bare-skinned in the snow, racing to breathing hot cavern walls. Feet melting snow, frozen tears down below, racing to screaming fiery nature calls. ©~Jazzi Ryan Ranes~

~Even As I Dream~
I write you down for all the world to see, I wonder what you think as you look up at me. I love how you never sleep, your stories creating form themselves even as I dream. What do you see when you choose these words I see, I wonder what you did before you cameContinue reading “~Even As I Dream~”

~Dreams In A Locket~
~I wrote this poem yesterday. It sprung from three poems I had written in my twenties and had folded and slipped into my pocket in order to let them work on me. I mean to edit them and post them when they are ready. As of today, I have two folded sheets of twenty bondContinue reading “~Dreams In A Locket~”

~Sharks~
He: I love the beach, oceans, sail boats and marine fishing. Me: I love rivers, lakes, ponds and waterfalls. He: You have something against the sea?… Me: Sharks don’t fall down waterfalls. ~©Jazzi Ryan Ranes~ *Shark photos taken in Gatlinburg, TN, 9/8/2010, at Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies*
~Desire~
Your voice whispers to me of a passion inside, Sends chills and thrills up and down my spine. A sexy low rumble to make my knees go weak, Breaking my resistance to the loving I seek. Having never loved you like lovers do, Your barely contained wanting for me is new, And when we makeContinue reading “~Desire~”
~City~
An old woman gazes from a second floor window as humidity rises from cracks in the sidewalk. Cars crawl in the street and pedestrians race the red light taking it yellow. I walk slowly and gaze into exotic shops stopping here and there. A gallery, a co-op, the news stand, leather goods and a coffeeContinue reading “~City~”
~Rain~
Rain, a trickle, a drip, a tickle, soothing my mind, my pulse, my body, cleansing the earth, hot skin, the sidewalk, misty and clear, windows, the air, my eyes… see heat waves in the aftermath of the storm. Rain, shiny glare, humid tar, and mirages, crystal drops, on leaves, in the grass, my hair… fallsContinue reading “~Rain~”
~My Eyeballs Hurt~
I said I would write a poem called my eyes balls hurt when and if my eyeballs didn’t hurt. Instead, my swollen burning orbs rolled dry for a moment, I had to, I had to get down the silly words… I can’t see my phone right now, my teary eyeballs refuse, but at least IContinue reading “~My Eyeballs Hurt~”
